After heavily promoting a story claiming the American Civil Liberties Union told schools not to say "Merry Christmas," Fox News failed to deliver in the latest installment of Bill O'Reilly's fake "War on Christmas," this time with Fox News anchor/attorneys Kimberly Guilfoyle and Lis Wiehl smearing the ACLU of Tennessee for a completely innocuous letter advising public schools reminiscent of the recent skewering of Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson in "The Colbert Report's" latest installment of "The Blitzkrieg on Grinchitude," as I show in this video.

The Fox News promotional clip claiming "the ACLU scrooges public schools warning them not to say 'Merry Christmas'" comes from Fox News' December 13, 2010, broadcast of the advertisement available online at http://media2.foxnews.com/121310/121410_ORE_PROMOS_121310_20-25_FNC_HIGH.mp4

The clips of Bill O'Reilly, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Lis Wiehl smearing the ACLU of Tennessee come from a segment of Fox News' December 14, 2010, broadcast of "the O'Reilly Factor" available online at http://video.foxnews.com/v/4458576/bah-humbug-from-the-aclu/

The clips I use of Stephen Colbert's segment criticizing Fox News' "War on Christmas" coverage comes from a segment of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" titled "Blitzkrieg on Grinchitude - Gretchen Carlson & Christian Nation CHRIST-mas Tree" broadcast December 13, 2010, available online at http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/368380/december-13-201...

The images I use of the ACLU of Tennessee's letter to public school superintendents come from the PDF document at http://www.aclu-tn.org/pdfs/Superintendent_letter_holidays.pdf

The image I use of the ACLU's webpage titled "Origins of Christmas" comes from http://www.aclu.org/origins-christmas

The image I show of my December 2009 video titled "ACLU Christmas Spirit Beats Fox News' Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter?" comes from my own YouTube player page at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O77lZpbPEIU

  • LV you do some great work here - if it weren't for people like urself we would all be in dark about these types who seek to keep us in 13th century..thanks.

  • Classic straw man argument by Fox News as usual. They know they are unable to adequately rebut the argument of the ACLU and resort to misrepresenting the argument so they can easily dismiss it. This wouldn't be a problem if most people understood this, but unfortunately a large percentage of this country's population is largely ignorant. No intelligent person could watch Fox News for more than an hour without being appalled at their representation of the facts.

  • Fox News is aware that a vast majority of their regular viewers will not fact-check anything they say.

  • Aren't those two lawyers regular experts? I swear I recognize their Pretty faces.

  • @types10000 maybe because you country is in the deep south.:) philippines why is it raining every day? russia why is it snowing every day? in december.

  • This isn't about Christmas. It's Fox News vs. the ACLU and the Bill of Rights. They're just whipping up some hysteria so the Fox News audience will be clamoring to give up their constitutional rights. Does Vegas have a betting line on when that will happen? I'll bet O'Reilly's got money down.

  • FOX news: facts not required

  • @rooky0859 Because Christmas was originally a pagan holiday that involved getting drunk , raping women, dancing naked in the streets singing (caroling) and murdering innocent scapegoated citizens. It was then adopted by the roman christians and it was the Jews who they scapegoated, forced to run naked through the streets while they pelted them with rocks, raped the Jewish women, and forced the Jews to give up their posessions (origins of gift giving) while Pope Paul II cheered!

Sorry, wrong person, the comment was for someone else.
