This video discusses the Senate version of the PROTECT IP Act, although a House bill has also been introduced that is much much worse.

It'll give the government new powers to block Americans' access websites that corporations don't like. The bill would criminalize posting all sorts of standard web content - music playing in the background of videos, footage of people dancing, kids playing video games, and posting video of people playing cover songs.

This legislation will stifle free speech and innovation, and even threaten popular web services like Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook.

The bill was just introduced. The video calls on Americans to act now to let their lawmakers know just how terrible it is, encouraging them to fill out a form on the following page:

i disagree... sopa and pipa will happen. it's great to have the protests, but their motive to temporarily delay is intended to wait until the election is over. sopa and pipa if mandated is intended to stop wikileaks. wikileaks provided evidence of our corrupt working of our governments and exposed the slaughtering of innocent people by military forces, and it almost exposed the raw corruption of our finacial institutions too.

this video is very good and makes it easy to understand some of the complex nature of this new form of censorship. i think pariacy is only part of the motive by our government... i think the primary motive is to prevent another wikileaks from happening again. the finacial institutions that have fleeced america of 16 trillion dollars were almost exposed by wikileaks. thanks to corruptness and ineptitude within our congress/government, americas constitutions are being compromised.

What about all of those people that make their money via the internet, like, oh.. Youtubers? The Shaytards, Vlogbrothers, the "partnered" people of youtube, some of them make a living via Youtube and the internet. If Youtube shuts down, as well as other sites, those people will lose their jobs. That's not just messing with the first amendment, that's booting ALOT of people out of a job.
