But it didn`t. Renault is the benchmark in the hot hatch segment at the moment. The new Clio RS absolutely destroys this and the new Civic Type R on the track.

It's the fastest hatchback around Nurburgring. Period. No argument over this.

Frenchies can build some really good pieces. This Clio is old one, the new one can beat Civic and the Megane R26 can totaly smoke Civic.

2050? You are being too optimistic about those greedy American auto makers. Who cares about American cars, they suck. Same goes for French cars, utterly sub-par.

Me too but not this one. The new Clio RS has longer wheel base, is roomier and can also bean Honda.

Maybe Americans will be able to make a car as reliable as Clio by 2050. Just maybe........But I think not.

Both are genuine hot hatches,but japanese build quality and long term reliability win every day.
