"WEAVING THE FUTURE" is aimed at creating sustainable livelihood for regional communities through design and development of products made from indigenous materials. Designer contestants will be tasked with conceptualizing apparel and accessories using 100% organic materials that will be put together by a community specializing in the manufacture of the indigenous materials. This partnership between the designer and the community is envisioned to be a sustainable endeavor that can revitalize regional economies even beyond the competition. Entries will be judged according to design, social impact and profitability. We also aim to raise awareness of the various indigenous weaves and materials that the Philippines has to offer.
