Dr.Press counts, but....
errr....bmmaz001, use another argument, because I HAVE Dr.Press' book, and I can assure you that he didn't write therein that mountains stabilize the earth.
What a shame! you agreed those islamic preachers (dr.naik, for instance), who claimed that a geologist confirmed in his book the function of mountains stated in the Quran, without checking if they are right or not...

Isostasy deals with the 'flotation' of lithosphere on mantle. It has NOTHING to do with "mountains bringing stability to the crust".
Mountains are a stabilizing force?
You are very inaccurate and meaningless.
Verily, you know a lot about this theory...
-
Thus, the Quran is false about mountains function.

Isostasy deals with the 'flotation' of the lithosphere on the asthenosphere. It means that continents and mountains are supported by their own buoyancy.
Now, what's happen if you 'take off' mountains? Well, the lithopshere will be still stable, it will be still be supported by its buoyancy. So, mountains don't affect the flotation of the whole plates.
Isostasy never states that mountains are a stabilizing force. You are scientifically inaccurate!
Thus, it's your comment that is ridiculous.

If he really wrote "the function of mountains is to stabilize the earth", then please provide the page numbers of that statement.
-
I know that, so do you really believe that Dr.Press support your idea?
-
So please sir, just state the obvious. You are hell bent on trying to find a fault even if you have to go so far as dismissing isostisys when it was your original defense. And just because you don't think there are non-muslim scientists that can confirm this, then you have the "dark ages" mentality when all the world but Islam was in darkness and the ummah brought you light through the will of Allah. Plain and simple. If you don't like Islam, then stop using what it gave you.

To add to the fact that your arabic is obviusly faulty, since the translation is in English (talk about the Arabic)... if you knew the arabic you wouldn't even be comenting... ie: "You see the mountains and think them firmly fixed; but they pass away as the clouds pass away..." [27:88]

However back to your racist question:
Professor Emeritus Frank Press. He was the Science Advisor to former US President Jimmy Carter, and for 12 years was the President of the National Academy of Sciences, Washington, DC. Unless you think somehow he doesn't count?
I will not eat green eggs and ham

This is clearly proof of Suess's prophetic knowledge of the toxicity of bacteria found in spoiled pork and eggs.
