Another incredible song by Michael Card. As is typical, perfect word choices combine with great vocals for memorable mental images. From the first time I heard this song, the line "Simeon takes the boy and starts to sing..." has made me continually reflect back to the mindset of Simeon, and the utter joy that he must have felt overflowing within him. Of all the things this old man could have done at that moment...shout, laugh, cry, smile, clap, pray...Michael Card says he began to SING.....perfect!! Amazing imagery.
I don't know if this song was inteneded to be written with a "Messianic" overtone to it or not, and I am sorry if any find it offensive, but maybe it will cause someone to dig a little deeper, and mainstream Jews and Christians will wake up and put aside their dogmatic traditions, and begin to listen to the unbiased Word of God and realize that there is a common thread that binds and unites us (See Hebrews 1-13).
This was my second video, second music montage, and 1st time using Vegas 7.0. Pinnacle is out the window as it is too limiting, and I will continue learning with Vegas.
I hope you enjoy the video, and find the same inspiration from the song as I did.

VERY NICELY DONE! Love the clips from "Jesus of Nazareth." Christian, Jew, Muslim, atheist, or whatever, you owe it to yourself and the possibility that there is a God and a Messiah to watch that outstanding film. Unparalleled for biblical accuracy.
Thank you so much for posting! As a Christian this song made me cry. Especially, when he stretched "Israel" out for several seconds. I am really glad Jesus died on the cross so we can sing praises and write songs like this one. We are to give our all and our best talents to God and Michael Card has done that!
This has always been one of my favorite Michael Card tunes, and now seeing this video with it brings it to life even more. Thank you for posting this.
Many of Michael Card's songs bring me to tears. He is unparallelled in the Christian music realm, in my opinion. It seems that his compositions are never about him or his talents, but rather, sing of Him and His wonders. I have long drwan a compariosn, in his talents, to the late Dan Fogelberg, never moreso than with this song. Wonderful song by a gifted, humble and God fearing artist.Thank you for the post!!!!
