Fastest diy tea candle stirling motor...in the west.

The "farmer" stirling balsa test bed is finished. Peak rpm 535
Top to bottom....
Old cpu alloy fanwheel ala Halo prop.
Dual copper flywheels at 86 btdc
Balsa beam supported brass and forged 2mm axle.
Silicone sealed water basin with alloy covering stainless scrubby wool and 1cm of water.
1cm balsa/kevlar displacer with 1mm brass rod.
3cm stainless cup bottom with alloy cap w'rod guide and 3/8" power piston port. Fire chimney is left over from cutting shallow displacer cup. 9cm high fits base of displacer chamber.
The connecting rods are .35 lexan w/CF hard fibre backing. Graphite piston of 8-9mm.
Works on....tea candle(s), sterno, alcohol, propane lpg, butane.
Total cost w/development LOL! 9hrs

Oh and by the way the fan was on the ground in the alley and the cam for the graphite power piston is a penny. LOL! Lets see a CD stirling still running like this after 4 years.

Nice engine dude!

It runs really fast but you should work on your aesthetics, this engine looks like it has been built from bits of metal and plastic from a junkyard and then smashed by two semitrucks and taped back together with superglue and duck tape. But it works really well and that's what counts.

Folks it's called the farmer stirling, you think a old 1800's farmer would have CNC? some are missing the aesthetic art in this working and still working demo. LOL! I got a really sick expensive chopper I'm fixing that looks great but don't run and would kill ya if you rode as delivered so beware slick packaging. That is what has sunk the economy ya know, shiney shiney no quality.

if you could flip the fan, so it would blow air on the cool side of the engine, the temp. difference will increase, and it will spin even faster. at least in theory :)
