  • I love how the lights go out and the crowd is like NOOOOOOOOOO.

Then the music goes back on and the crowd is like YEEEEEEEEESSS.

  • LOVE this scene- and LOVE when Vanessa kicks the second guy Benny knocks down, right before the blackout. Hilarious! This musical is certainly one of a kind, and absolutely amazing.

  • Yo these people is so ghetto they done stole they table and chair! lol

  • Man, seeing the blackout scene live was incredible!

  • This entire scene is beautifully crafted. You get the fun, clubby, almost quirky vibe in the beginning, you feel the tensions rise, and that "Oh shit!" kinda moment when Benny throws that first punch.

Then the lights cut off as the music intensifies. That bugs me out EVERYTIME!!! I think that is so freakin' cool how the do that!!!

"Blackout" is just a wonderful piece of music. You can really feel the dismay in the air.

And that, is what we call good musical theatre. :)

  • I get chills whenever Abuela Claudia says "The stars are out tonight"

  • The guy playing Usnavi in this is damn adorable.

  • Blackout = most elements of inner city struggle, summed up in a few minutes and beautifully acted out to music. Wow! Where else can you get that? Lin Manuel! Please do a play based off of Richard Price's Clockers. Not based off the movie, but off the book. Sorry Spike, but this is pretty much set in stone. Not even Richard Price himself (co-writer of the screenplay) could trump his own novel.

  • although he was no Lin (nobody is or ever will be), Javier was incredible. I saw him twice and both times he was flawless

  • @crazycrazycar1234 Yeah, it was just so smooth that it's hard to tell if it's part of the choreography or not. Only shows the awesomeness that is Karen Olivo!

  • @artcream530 its because its dark and she cant see where shes going thats why she tripped

  • Can you see if you can upload the whole show?
