SYNOPSIS

Rapid overview on the figure of the hero, bringing the viewer through meaningful images, the faces of those who are nationally or universally recognized as heroes, ending with a consideration on the current state of things, disputing the Italian contemporary reality and the difficulties that a common man encounters in everyday life, making him in some ways a hero.

The definition of hero is quite controversial, especially if combined with historical or political figures, is complex and inevitably always arbitrary, we has often led to debate on 'argument.
Are birth and death of an ordinary man through a parade of historical characters who embodied some of the meanings of this term, we explored the concept of "hero", moving from its more "idealized" and imaginative, its manifestation in the real world, aligning our differences and seeking the most emblematic and historical figures as "neutral" as possible, probably failing along the way some aspects that we have not considered, but nevertheless we faced a personal journey and thoughtful that reflects as closely as possible on our idea.

TECHNICAL CHOICES:

We used a technique known as "Speed-Drawing", which is nothing but a kind of Time-Lapse applied to the realization of drawings: in particular we have a camera mounted on a vertical stand, adjusting the shutter frame to one frame every four seconds of footage. We made drawings projected on a surface of ant images that we chose to represent, then summing up forms and drawing only the essential, simple lines, express a choice in a sense "minimal" which would bring to the attention of users, the historical depth, personal and evocative figures represented not thinking about the clarity of line.

MUSIC:

We thought of approaching these images fast and frenetic music that it acted as a counterpoint, a slow ballad written several years ago by our friend and regular collaborator Rob Falsini who was happy to lend his work to this project. The words written in a different context and inspired by the work of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" to describe the longing of the protagonist can not freely love his woman, thus adding to our points of view a video of the most difficult to visually represent with a single design: the figure of the romantic hero.
