When Northern Brewer/Brewing TV videographer Chip Walton isn't busy shooting video and surviving sub-zero wind chill, he's doing odd ball experiments. Like this one!

  • @shamusmum - Video dude Chip actually makes an annual five-gallon batch of chocolate stout that he freezes one gallon in a sanitized milk jug to the point beyond slush but not brick-hard.... then slow pours the unfrozen contents into 3 16-oz EZ cap bottles. The result is divine!

  • Ha! Cool! er.... cold.

  • I've accidentally partially frozen a couple of 19L kegs in my chest freezer kegerator, and the results were surprisingly good. Once I thawed out the lines I ended up with what tasted like a double or triple IPA from the partially frozen IPA. I guess all the water freezes first and floats to the top, so you get a more concentrated flavour with a higher alcohol content. The only problem is drinking all the flavour/alcohol off and leaving you with weak beer, which tastes like Corona Lite.

  • This is the first time I've heard fuggly be a good thing. Nice! I may have to try this.

  • This is why NB rocks!

  • This video represents why I enjoy subscribing to NorthernBrewerTV! Awesome!
