I learned about the Freestyle from the little-known Sega arcade game, Wing War. What a fantastic design! Almost like a VTOL Foxbat!
...uhhh...missing one engine.
...and with smaller wings.
...and a big airbrake thing to help with the STOVL capability.

You are partially correct. However, as far as I know, that modified Mirage-3 never flight tested past the sound barrier due to lack of funding.
