So, after the fun times riding, we had to work on getting those razor clams cleaned. Here's a nifty little trick we learned from someone else a long while back.. Used to, we'd be forcing them open with spoons and the likes, slicing our hands up on their shells... Well check this out:

1. Boil up some water, dip the clams in the water until their shells pop open.
2. As soon as the shells pop, get them back into COLD WATER as quick as possible.

Sometimes they'll even fall right out of their shells, but if they don't, you can usually just pull them off. Use a spoon and scrape lightly, and they just come right out. Also a little bit about cleaning them, watch the annotations.

The foot-cleaning was left out, but basically just clean out the black stuff and leave the white fatty looking stuff (that's the most flavorful stuff in the clam).

Also some side footage of the machines after we kinda rinsed them off a bit, they're still mudded up pretty nice :p

  • @superultramegaman5 No, definitely not lol.

  • Can you cook them witout the fussy cleaning???

  • @heelrunner Not a great idea..... It'll be like eating sand, for one.. And I don't think it's a good idea to eat their organs either.

  • in philippines we get this things near the river and we dont clean it like this you just wash them with cold water and boil them or grill

  • Just one question. Are you viet?

  • That was very amusing to watch. Thank you very much.

  • That's a very cool idea. Thank you for sharing. Now we know how to clean our razor clams.

  • He's not cooking them, he's blanching them to kill them before cleaning.

A few seconds in the hot water, then dunk them into cold water lest they get tough.
