  • Hey! They finally listed the comments that have doubtlessly been building for a long while! Thank you, NostalgiaTelevision!

  • I remember hearing that song on radio when Jolly Green Giant sponsored Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians (popular musical group of the Forties and early Fifties) By sending in two labels plus a dime, you could get a Little Golden Song of this song. I still can sing the song after alll these years.

  • memories .....nice!

  • What a classic the older commercials are the best.

  • OK kiddies - a brief history lesson. This ad is from 1962 or 1963 and is the first in this long-running series of Green Giant commercials (they ran until 1972). They tried a new form of it with a "Hometown of the Jolly Green Giant" ad which only aired a few times and was pulled because everyone missed the old style ads. In the "Hometown" ad you could actually see the face of the actor playing the Giant and he was in an urban scene. That ad has never (to my knowledge) surfaced on YouTube.

  • I'm surprised no one has commented on this before now. This is one of the most famous and popular commercials in TV history. I believe this ad is from 1962 or 1963 and is the first to introduce a "live action" Green Giant. The Giant was played by former Olympic ski jumper Keith Wegeman (whose daughter is Katherine Kelly Lang from "The Bold And The Beautiful") and the "Ho Ho Ho" is by Elmer "Len" Dresslar Jr. (who was also "Dig'Em" and "Snap" from "Snap, Crackle & Pop").

  • ho ho ho
