Train from Bury to Bacup 1966. part 2 - Stubbins to Rawtenstall, via Strongstry (which the narrator has trouble pronouncing) , Irwell Vale, Ewood Bridge and New Hall Hey. On a personal note, my own childhood home appears on the horizon 1:21 to 1:24, about a month before I was born!!

  • the steam train used to go along the other side of the river from our house in Chatterton between Stubbins and Strongstry (probably around 0.38). I lived there when this film was made - when I was 9 years old....

  • i agree mate

  • I did a survey of the Irwell and remember going back and forth under lots of railway bridges from Tottington to Bacup. very scenic. Thanks for sharing

  • You can get it from the Standard 4 group shop on Platform one at Bury Bolton St station.

  • Hi boo66, can you get this on a DVD ?

  • 60 trains used to go through Ramsbottom station on a saturday when the accrington and Bacup line's were both open up until Beechings cuts. Just goes to show what a major station it was. Such a shame it's all gone now apart from the ELR.
