In 1969 the Brush Barons Motorcycle Club worked it out with the City of Escondido to hold an American Motorcycle Association sanctioned fund raiser "European scrambles" motorcycle race in the soon to be developed land of Kit Carson Park. The profits of the race were to be donated to a special fund for the building of the first kids playground area. The race came off as planned and it was a fun event. Today Kit Carson Park is mostly developed, some of it got turned into a mall, some into proper sports facilities. None of it is used for anything really fun anymore like motorcycle racing.

My family used to ride our little Honda Z 50 mini out there in the early 70's. Dad also had his 69 Yamaha DT 250. Never raced but I remember the area well. Thanks for posting this !!
