This is a trailer for the wonderful HBO mini-series Band of Brothers. I have no idea who scored this originally, but I do know Michael Kamen wrote a wonderful score for the actual series and the opening theme is really great.

My composition here is set full orchestra and choir.

  • Not to fond of the software instruments, but it sure is a nice composition. Loved the way it builds in the end as well as the key range climbs a bit.

  • @CallingHeartRecords you mention sample quality a couple of times in other comments, and i'm wondering what in particular, if you can remember, you didn't like about them. i have wondered if maybe my string sections were a little too forward in the mix, and maybe that would help your perception? the libraries i used are definitely not inexpensive, so i'm just curious.

  • 0:45 what are you doing? If God would exist, he could stop the Hell you are getting in!

No God, no Hope, only Pain, Death...

  • Well the soatware instruments sound pretty good to me , short of hiring an orchestra I am not sure how you could get a better sound than this.

Great music, very well done, superb.

  • French horns wonderful.

    Vices sound great.

    Strings:

    No bow change sound.

Strings technique sounds like they were played on a keyboard.

    Slow string attacks sound unnatural.

    No string rosin sound.

*Lack of fidelity in the strings.

Yes, you're right, lowering them would better meld the different tracks together, but we should not have to do that.

Check this out. I myself would be hard pressed to beat this string sound, but it can be done. Just take note at 3:39 youtube.com/watch?v=l45SsHvQmh4
