My first attempt at modelling the Prototype HST set. For this model I used Genesis models Cab ends, Lima power cars and Joueff coaches.

  • An excellent example of this rarely modelled train. There must have been hours of work involved, well done. Thank goodness they changed the front end before going into production, the prototype was so ugly.

  • @legomanbiffo Thanks for the comments, a lot of work did go into this but the end results paid off.

I have just uploaded a video of my new Hornby Prototype HST set which was finished this weekend.Enter Hornby Prototype HST 252 001 DCC sound as the search. Thanks again, Dave

  • Thanks for your comments. For this set I used a pair of Lima power cars and fitted them with cab fronts from Genesis models. The coaches are all Joueff MK 3 and consist of 2 first class,3 second class and 2 buffet cars.Transfers for the coaches are all by Fox, the power cars are a mix of Fox and Scale model transfers,He supplied the double arrows and numbers, although he has now closed the business down. All paints are Railmatch Enamel.

A full Hornby set with the new power cars is nearly ready
