Looks like sleet/ Soft hail to me. But still pretty impressive for Auckland.

@YourGamesAndMusic Yes and the winter before that and the winter before that and 55 cm in 2005 in MARCH with -21 C etc. But THIS IS AUCKLAND, not The Netherlands! look it up on the map: it is like we would have 100 cm of snow. Not just 45 cm.

@vassilischr because it has a very stong oceanic influence, and if you see where it's located in the map, you'll notice it's almost where Sydney is, only a little more to the east, and there hasn't been any true snowfalls in there, so yeah.. Although in the Southern Island of New Zealand it does snow and frequently :P
