What I Like About You - Romantics (Drum Cover) by Dirtydan93

Hey guys! Hope you like the new setup.
I recorded thru my Tascam recording unit and at the same time I video taped myself drumming
and I had my dad press the record on the unit at the same time I pressed record on the camera so It'd be a lot easier to sync in the editing. And it worked!
Hopefully you like my creative editing - It only took about 30 minutes or so.
I thought it was pretty kool, so lemme know whatcha think.

Dude yeah when doing a cover accuracy is very important; but like u said ur loving what u do. My band and i have played alot of different covers for shows even when we played warped tour. and i honestly can say that the covers we played i changed up a little to make it sound like me. forget these haters and do what u do; if they wanna talk shit they can check out my bro's youtube channel and see his covers which he's changed up and sound a heck of alot better than the original

@dirtydan93 search for Romantics, What I Like About You" Original video. Listen to it many times... Learn it my brother then get on your kit and kill it. You have the skills or almost have the skills to play it right, just takes more dedication. After you do that learn it left handed and then sing the entire song while you are playing...lol no easy feat.

OK, Listen to the bass beat: chi boboom, chi boboom, chi boboom, chi boboom, chi boboom, chi boboom. That is the blood of the song along with the strong 8th notes on the high hat. It's tiring for your foot to play the bass beat all the way through but you need to do that to play this song and make it sound good. The extra snare shiat is a HUGE NO NO that every beginner drummer does... The drums are the nucleus of the song. Do it Right! ;)

@dirtydan93 When doing a cover always go for accuracy. Sure you can take some ad libs and have some fun but don't mucK with the blood and guts of the song the way you did here. Other wise your not making music you're just making sh*t.

That's WEAK. If you post half ass crap drumming covers expect to get poor comments... This is a fairly easy song too.  Maybe take up the flute instead...

@Hammerhead786 Ok - welp I didn't think I was THAT off beat. I wasn't goin for accuracy. Just havin fun. And yes I know I really need to work on playing along with songs more. I've gotten a bit better though - maybe...lol. i guess that's up to you. Yeah I'm thinkin bout gettin a new set tho lol, that's what it was relatively new.

NO 16th notes with the right hand it's 8th notes and the original bass line is what drives the song. The extra snare is crap and you need a metronome you are off time a lot of the song. Red drum shells...that's what i like about you...
