  • @zKa0sz All players loose there touch at the end of there careers for menny reasons.

  • @nomatesman I believe he said Bateman was an absolute pleasure to play with but an absolute nightmare to play against. Praise indeed.

  • Worked with this guy after he retired, decent guy unlike that prick Charvis who I've also met..

  • Bateman was a very underrated player.

  • @zKa0sz Yes it happens to all players i think

  • @Rasperdan He lost his touch toward the end of his career though

  • it pisses me off ... why is this player not up there with the gods of rugby. There must be something we are missing .. cos its just mad how they mist his Genius ... Sad as fook

  • Read a piece in one of the national papers just prior to the Lions tour in 2001, when players going on the tour were asked which past Lion they wished was touring with them that year. Of the handful asked a few answered Gareth Edwards, Barry John etc but Will Greenwood stated Allan Bateman who was still playing at the time and who Greenwood toured with in 1997 when I think he had yet to be capped by England.

  • I agree Same here first one down .... most underated player of all time .. legend
