Review of the AKG C1000s vocal mic. Compared to the SM58 and a GT66.

This is a great mic for home recording and for live shows.

  • Hi, what's the mic you speak in most of the time? I think it sounds best.

  • i have the GT66 just off camera, other than my review of the GT66 ;)

  • @lunthayphudi Both convertor 'caps' installed by unscrewing mesh top, HOLDING bottom of rubber shock mount whilst pushing on (with a little twist) or pulling off (with a little twist). A good, versatile mic.

  • Hey man, great video! I'm thinking about getting a GT 66 because it sounded great on your video. Did you use a de-esser in the video or just compression??

  • @042493penilla why wouldnt u want it grounded? thats the whole point of an XLR, use 1/4 inch (converter) or re wire it disconnectiong the ground. but im not sure if that would work. if u dont want it tho.. for whatever odd reason

  • The ppc is a plastic cap that slots over the capsule, it comes with the mic, there is one that hypes the high frequencies for speech purposes aswell.

  • I think SM58 sounds better, base on this demo.

  • Hey just wondering if you know how to apply the ppc converter on the mic. LIke what do u actually do physically i have the mic but don't undrestand how to convert to ppc is their a switch for it?

  • @gersing Yeah, you'll need an audio interface. M-audio Fast Track Pro is a good one for newbs.

  • @Buhzie15 That's why it's a *vocal* mic.

  • very nice mic, but has poor high spl levels... very sensitive and easy to overload. not for loud situations. probably best for acoustic instruments and light vocals.
