Interesting to hear this. I read about it in a book called "Down with the Old Canoe", sort of a Titanic social history, bu I'd never heard the original. Hey, would anyone mind checking out my original Titanic song? I put a slide show with it to issustrate the lyrics, but i would just like to get whatever feedback i can.

Seems that Radiex let their shellac get worse and worse as the '20's wore on. My red-label acoustic Radiex from, 1923-24 with Frank Bessinger singing "A Smile Will Go A Long, Long Way" had a better surface than my Aqua labelled one from 1928-29 with a Mike Mosiello-led unit doing " Sportin' ", a ditty extolling the party-culture of speakeasies. If I ever get the time and resource to upload it I will. It sounds like it should be in the middle of an early Betty Boop cartoon.

Radiex records were pressed into some of the lowest quality shellac. They were somewhat popular, and heavy play back then causes the typical Grey Gull-product wear.

Love ole Vernon Dalhart, especially on that red shellac!!

Fantastic! I love everything by Vernon Dalhart and I appreciate you posting this great Radiex. I've got a couple of his as Jeff Calhoun. Gotta love the pseudonyms.
Whenever I find a Radiex, they always seem to be very, very worn.

This is about the finest looking red Radiex I've seen. A visual grade of E-. I was a little disappointed when it was as scratchy/hissy as one with a dull surface. Good tune, though.
