Jessica Y Sarandrea Tribute

"Pfc. Jessica Y. Sarandrea, 22, of Miami, Fla., died March 3 in Mosul, Iraq, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked her forward operating base with mortar fire.

President Abraham Lincoln wrote a letter to a civil war widow upon the notification of the death of her five sons: "I fell how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to safe.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom.

Certainly, this was a costly sacrifice to have lain upon the altar of freedom. God has called my Baby girl and Heroine home, and now, Jessy, rejoices before His presence. I pray her sacrifice will not go unnoticed and that we will leave our lives to the fullest; being mindful of those that serve our country on the Mainland and abroad. She is gone but will never be forgotten. I would like to express my gratitude to all of you that knew her and paid your respects in some way; to those that assisted my wife, our kids and me thru these difficult times; to our family, friends and the Army.Thanks for your support.

I still can't believe it...I was out in California with her before the deployment and she was so cool. When we got to Mosul I saw her all the time at the APO. I heard the attacks the night before but I didn't think anyone got hurt, when I heard it was her I just couldn't believe it. I immediately thought about her husband who was out there too and I could only imagine how he felt...I'm so sorry for your loss R.I.P Battle

We want to say thanks to every one for been there for our Jessy and it not about who is going to pay for what happend to her. God is and has been always in control. It really hurt not having her here with us but she is better now till we see each other again. Just make sure that our hearts are ready when God call up on our names.
