Similar to Sauerbraten, Nexuiz is gorgeous... so much so that I couldn't run it at max detail without a heavy loss of FPS! Graphics aside, is this fast-paced shooter worth the download? I don't own Nexuiz. This review reflects my opinion. Nexuiz can be found here: http://www.alientrap.org/nexuiz/

  • It only looks like crap on his computer. Look at another video.

  • No, it actually looks pretty good, considering I run the game at highest settings (with HDR but without bloom- running both on at the same time is VERY CPU and GPU extensive). Youtube may have lowered the quality substantially, though.

  • No, not really.

  • No disrespect, but you have to be a somewhat experienced user/player of Nexuiz to get a balance of good effects and good fps. My autoexec.cfg contains at least 10 lines of commands just to get me above 150 fps and have good lighting. True, Nexuiz can't compete with certain other first person shooters out there, but it certainly deserves more credit than people give it credit for.

  • I never said it looked bad. And I forgot to mention, the reason why I had such a low framerate was because I was trying to run Bloom and HDR AT THE SAME TIME... mega pretty, but mega laggy.

By the way, I'm not too good with scripting and such, so I honestly wouldn't know how to edit the game properly.

  • I usually just use bloom. It looks pretty good and doesn't bog things down. Same with OpenArena. As far as max settings? I don't use max. Oddly, games with flashier visuals actually have lower system requirements. UT2004, for example.

  • I have a problem in the online mode, I don't press anything and yet I still move, which is very annoying because I'm always falling down!!! Can you guys help me?

  • how do you record?

  • Nexuiz is the best looking fast-paced shooter out there. You can't deny this.
