The anticipated meeting between the two best teams in the East occurred at the Polo Grounds in New York City on October 16, 1937, in what was the biggest game of the season. In each of the two prior seasons, the Pitt Panthers and the Fordham Rams had battled to 0-0 ties. Remarkably, this game ended in a third consecutive 0-0 tie. Pitt was unbeaten in 1937 and finished top ranked in the AP poll. Fordham was also unbeaten and finished No. 3. This is the coach's reel of the play-by-play sequence of the game.
