As far as I remember 83/84 was BHL's best year. He went on an unbeaten run winning the Cazalet and Mildmay race 2 weeks later. He started as a handicapper. In 1985, his final season, Francome's riding weight was 10'9, so I would say he was carrying around 10'6 here.
GREAT ! I never got a chance to watch this race live. What a terrific horse Burrough Hill Lad was. It's a shame he was so difficult to keep sound. Do you know what weight he was carrying ? He was no.3 but Peter's commentary said John Francome was doing 3lbs overweight.
