Its called trying something out. As an artist your going to take ideas from people who influence you, its not copying its trying to learn a program and the best way to do that is to practice on 'things already done' You see it all the time in the media.

Thats really sweet, Trying to get ideas of things to practice with after effects, thats probably the hardest part of learning after effects, finding out what you want to do... from there its as easy as google but thats kinda cheeting
