Yes and no,too often the drug culture in the music world is considered to be performance oriented.Even the worst drug addicts usually played straight, it was during the off hours that they got high.

Lost of creative people need drugs to experience moments of briliancy...often only recognized by themselves...ZAPPA. dit not, he''s just briliant by himself...

Ah man, i would've given my left eye to experience a FZ concert.. The musical genious Frank Zappa will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.

he didn't hate them, he just didn't partake in it (well he tried weed but didnt like it) or allow his in his band during rehearsals or a tour. plus Zappa drank beer (which legal or not is still a drug) was also an avid cigarette smoker and coffee drinker so its not like he was complete straight edge.

yeah.. as he said before: "A drug is not bad. A drug is a chemical compound. The problem comes in when people who take drugs treat them like a license to behave like an asshole."
drugs only hide what you're really are to show what you're not.. a numb zombie in most of the cases..
