Love is honest
Honestly going to break me
There is not enough of me to serve me and you at the same time
Perhaps that is why love is selfless
So giving
So kind
So draining
Like my tear drops I'm giving it away
It's flowing too fast
Love is in your voice
The one that I ignore in my head
I gave you back your penny so I could keep my thoughts to myself
You were too busy to cash my change
You took the last of my worth and left me
Calling out
Begging you to need me
And keep me in that pocket close to your heart
Love is in the cold that surrounds me
I want to wrap my arms around it and warm it to me
I'm sure that if you got the chance you'd warm to me
Stay close to me
Love has been free from me for too long
And so expensive to give
I don't want to barter my body for your time
I don't want you to sweep me off my feet while I get carried away with hopes and dreams you cant fulfil
I want to try something new
Walk hand in hand because love is in that spark of your fingertips
Those invigorating moments I want to bottle up and carry with me
So for now I will wait
Walking through life with my feet firm on the ground where I asked you to leave them
