Companies who do not use GMOs should start labelling their products "Contains No GMOs." Then consumers will know for sure they are eating GMO-free food. If they assume food without this label contains GMO, it will encourage other GMO-free companies to label their own foods. This should be used as a selling point: "Buy this food because it does not contain GMOs!"

Why are we even surprised about this/is anyone really surprised?

The USA has committed enough of its corn production alone each year that could feed most of the world, to the production of Ethanol, to power their oversized SUV"S so they can drive to Walmarts to buy their cheap Chinese products, while their neighbors are losing their jobs due to cheap Chinese imports..

Asking for some good sense to be applied is a bit OTT in light of all that.

Check out the book, The Wind Up Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi. A fantasy/speculative science fiction, about a world where companies like Monsanto have released plagues to destroy food sources so countries must buy their GMO products. Its pretty scary and believable.

1: Go to pubmed or webofknowledge. 2: Search for GMO review. 3: Find an article describing the dangers coupled to GMOs. 4: READ THE SCIENCE. 5: Have an opinion.
