Look for barrel cacti the middle bit is edible and a great source of food and water bit like a melon

expertvillage lol...anyways in Sonora where I'm at, there's plenty of prickly pear. Also if you see a saquaro on top of a hill, there is a natural spring source, plus the water IN the cactus itself.
