Great video. I've been reading Andy's book "One Train After" and highly recommend it. As a fan of both Kevin Ayers and Andy Summers I'm overjoyed to see this. Seems like Ollie Halshal pretty much schooled Andy Summers here (not that it's a competition). Now I need to check out his Ollie's music as well!

Great performance. Andy is just great.

Ollie Halsall has grown in stature with my listening over the years; both he and Summers devastating original players.

I ain't playin' no fuckin' guitar lead after Ollie Halsall... Not even if I'm Andy Summers.

LOOK!! they let andy summers in, only if he promised to pay for the drinks later I hear!

Too many cooks...what is the keyboard player ( not ) wearing ? Andy Summers is not a natural guitarist, technicaly fine but lacking individuality, perhaps.

Je viens de voir un policeman!.. Superbes cuisses de la pianiste! A bientôt Kevin pour un Lady Rachel" à Montolieu! Bises à tous!

unimpressive. Seems Somers and Halsall are trying to hijack Kevin's song. Bad.

Good and Interesting. Andy Summers was twice lead guitarist for Kevin's band, the first time billed under his given name Andy Somers.

it's not really andys bag is it .?...get back to London and take the train....but not the first one.....
Can't decide who cuts the head on this one. Ollie is definitely up for a little one-one-one with Summers. Fantastic performance. When was this performed - was it during the Police's heyday?

Ollie and Andy were friends and Halsall even did a Police tribute album [Majaband - Introducing Police Hits] in Spain around that time. They shared a wonderfully insane and absurd approach to the guitar. There is a video somewhere of a totally outrageous live Summers solo on So Lonely. He's a wonderful player - never scared to take a chance, get lost and find a way out [continued . . .

. . . continued] I think even he would admit, however, that it was game to Halsall on this particular outing. It's impossible to conceive of any other player coming up with Ollie's deceptively simple licks here. A fascinating glimpse into the mind of a total genius.
