  • Clark = Legend.

I bet Will can still go yard. Probably the best Giant (in his day) to dawn Orange and Black since the Say Hey Kid.

Long live Will "The Thrill" Clark!!!

  • He didn't leave the G-men, They didn't want to resign him because his previous injuries and his contract was up. The biggest mistake the Org. ever made next to letting Willie go to the Mets in '69. They let the heart and soul go twice! This has been a curse until tonight! Way to go Giants! I have waited all of my life for this moment and I am turning 50 soon. Thanks for the memories and a kick ass playoff to win it all...

  • i'll never understand why Will left the team after they won 103 game

try wrapping your head around that one.

  • @fukufools Pissed off Raiders fan? How are the A's doing, or the Warriors?

  • Will Clark was awesome...the 1987 NLCS was the Dennis Leonard series, even though the Giants lost

  • correction: % = 5 (RBIs in postseason)

  • Damn Right!! And for those who think that's BS. Clark left at the height of his return to the NL. In 51 games with the Cards he hit .345 with 12 HRs, 42 RBIs, 15 2Bs, and a .655 SLG%!!! In addition to 2HRs and %RBIs in the post-season. I was SO dissappointed to see him not return to see what he could have done. HE WAS BACK!!! Just like the SF days!!

Still put up MORE than respectable #s. Wish the Hall would take his knowledge and intensity for the game into consideration instead of just #s.

  • One of my favorite Sports Illustrated covers featured Clark and Mark McGwire (when he was with the A's), and the cover said 'Double Trouble'. This was from the SI's 1988 baseball preview, and MLB pitchers had to fear either Clark at the 'Stick or Mac at the Coliseum. I never was a fan of the Bash Brothers, but Mark McGwire was the greatest A's player ever, and Clark was the heart and soul of the '87 team. If SF faced the Twins in the World Series, then there would be a '87 pennant at AT&T Park.

  • If Will Clark wanted to play for 5 more years to collect 3000 hits and get into the HOF, he could have. But family was more important to him than the HOF, so he retired Respect.

HOF of Not, when putting together an all-century team, if you want to win, you want Will Clark on your team.

  • I still can't believe the disrespect for Will Clark by the Hall of Fame committee. Maybe he didn't quite have the numbers for Hall of Fame status but to not even receive the 5% vote to be on future ballots?
