  • Panzer wasn't the Wehrmacht heavy tank, it was the Tiger I

  • @evildeathmonkey1 That would be the case in the earlier stages of the war - Panzer IVs were actually made for infantry support while IIIs took on enemy armor. The P. IVs back then were Ausf A to F1 variants but after countering the T-34s and KV-1s in Op. Barbarossa, that's when Panzer IVs were upgunned to take on enemy tanks more efficiently (also note tanks like the Tiger replaced the role of heavy tank while Panthers more or less supplanted Panzer IVs to an extent as medium tanks)

  • ehm ich bin eine gummi puppe

  • Is this documentary called, "War Archive Collection - Panzer IV Heavy Tank"?

  • @Bloodmane1987

  • One of the best tanks it's time! Just great look:)

  • @EmptyWalls100 It was heavy in the beginning but reduced to midium later coz of tiger and Panther....

  • The panzer IV was a medium tank, not a heavy.

  • Pzkpfw. IV wasn't a heavy tank.

  • @shitbringer I think that's because the Germans didn't classify by weight but by gun calibre. At least that's what I read once. Also the Panzer IV was designed when tanks were just a lot lighter in general. The panzer II was the light tank, the III the medium and the panzer IV the heavy tank. In that perspective it makes sense to call the IV a heavy tank.
