the nail plate does not breath. the nail gets its oxygen from the blood under the nail plate. the yellow coloring is from the nail polish its self . if u wear light polish u dont get the yellowing . the dye in the polish leachs out in the nail. Yes, buffing does get rid of most of the color. Happy feet !!!!!!!!
