  • I have to say.. very likeable fellow

  • @ScuffleSage Such a nice comment! Thank you!

    Kind regards, Mika

  • I believe the injury to the tree was caused by lightning a few years a go as the wound looks to be mostly occluded. Lightning hit a tree near my camp last summer. It looked similar.

  • @WhitSpurzon I think you are right about the lightning.

Me and my mother came to the same conclusion.

Thanks for bringing up the subject.

    Cheers!

    Mika

I was wondering why you needed confirmation about the obvious?

  • when i go out in the woods Bushcrafting i take a shoulder bag with plastic sealable bags to puts little things in.

  • thats a great idea ill have to start my collection

  • Excellent video for illustrating using your surroundings and being prepared for the unexpected.

  • Dude this is an excellent video, and a good example of habits that are necessary to possess when going into nature. I come from a warm tropical climate and this gives me the urgency I need to pay attention to if I get stuck out in the bush. Thanx again for bringing this awareness to us.

  • Seems so natural for me these kinds of things but I think that has something to do with where I was born and raised (72 degrees north, Norway), I figure the cold environment makes us more predisposed to hiking and camping than people from warmer countries for some reason, at least that seems to be the case.

This video gave me the idea of trying to use a mortar and pestle to powder and mix birch bark and pitch into some sort of fire bricks, I think that will work well, should burn pretty long.

  • The resin is good for the airways.Good medicine against inflammation of the airways too.

  • looks like gem stone to e..one can make jewelry on that
