  • I lit the fuse. Didn't run fast enough and went down with the ship. Glub.

  • @LanceRogan926 I worked in Bravo 4 during that Boston overhaul. I hung out with an ST named Trembley and a BM named Brazil.

  • For more on the USS MULLINIX see the video "USS STORMES DD-780" where in 1959 a MULLINIX crewmember took video of the USS STORMES which i served on 47 years ago. Thank you Mullinix crewmember for that video. Long live the memories of the USS MULLINIX AND THE USS STORMES...TWO GREAT DESTROYERS.

  • I served on THE MIGHTY MUX for my last 15 months of my enlistment and went to the Persian Gulf to Bahrain, back to Charleston, then on to the Boston Shipyards. What a Ship!!!! What a crew!!!! She was second to none on NGFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I served on the Mighty Mux for three years. I was a radioman. Our call sign was

N A H B. The last of the great gun ships. There will never be another ship built with three 5" 54 guns to it. We were GUN FIRE SUPPORT.

There is absolutely nothing like a Tin Can Sailor. The ship may be gone but the spirt lives on!

  • I served aboard the Mighty Mux from 1973-1977, Great memories. She was a good ship.

  • my granpa was Salvador Vadalabene
