@dantizzle It's also possible to "seem" conscious and yet be unconscious. My CPS are like that. My eyes are open, I continue to do what I was doing before my seizure and I can even respond to people but I am "blacked out" completely unaware of what I'm doing and what's going on. I walked three blocks once while "blacked out" during a seizure.
@bairdfamily5 How are his generalized seizures affecting him and how is he doing now? I hope for the best for him!

<3 to your son and your family. I'm sorry you have to deal with various "internet people" who question your statements like you don't know what you or your doctors are talking about. (isn't it wonderful to have random medical professionals on the internet correcting you simply by looking at a video and consulting wikipedia?! lolz)
Thank you for posting this video and I wish nothing but a wonderful life for your little man!

@gurliehmggurl He is doing great. He is 5 now and will be starting kindergarten next year! Right now, his seizures are under control. He is still mostly non-verbal, but starting to follow simple commands. He's way behind, but progress is progress! I'll take it!

People don't always lose conciousness. My husband only has these types of seizures, and he NEVER loses conciousness. His pupils dialate, sometimes he has some jerking movements, his personality changes, he sweats profusely, blinks continuously, and often moans a lot. My husband also has status epilepticus, so his seizures do not stop without medication intervention. Never assume that all seizures are the same!

@Ginyurei Thank you so much for your kindness...I hate it when people tell me what my kid is NOT having after it's been diagnosed by a top nuerologist and multiple EEGs at the top hospitals...so thank you!

hmm.. complex partial seizures cause loss of consciousness by definition.

@dantizzle Right...and it can manifest itself in many ways. Some people continue on with certain hand motions, rapid eye blinking, lip smacking....Sometimes he just stares. He has since moved on to generalized seizures that are affecting his entire brain. The complex partials were only affecting one area. He would throw his hands up and vocalize, but would not be totally "there." I'm not sure if he even hears me during.
