Tiniest hotel room in the world. Okay, I know that's not true. I know there are those Japanese tubes you can sleep in and stuff. But still. This was the White House Hotel in NYC. It's a hostel. I didn't see any bugs at all though so I can't complain.

  • I just went back from that place, the price is 34$ w/ tx for a single... For my experience, i wouldnt have stayed there more than 4 nights in a row... i needed to be pretty hammered drunk to sleep in there.. the beds are really small and there is noise in the hallway because there is no ceilings.. (the janitor is chatting really loud at 8:00am, even with super earplugs i could ear him talkin).

  • Yeah. It was really loud. I was by the bathrooms so I could hear everything. At least it was cheap...and relatively secure (compared to hostels) and I didn't see any roaches or anything!

  • Where's the window? Air, argggh . . .

  • Yeah. A window would have been nice...but the ceiling of the little rooms were open at least. Not so nice when you are next to the bathroom...but still.

  • Please tell me that's cheap?

  • Pretty cheap. Comparably. $30 a night for a single.

  • i really enjoyed my stay at the bowery, the staff were great and so were the guys living there

what do people expect for a cheap nights stay "the Hilton"

if i go back to NYC i would definately stay at the Bowery.

  • talk about high density living..pffft

  • I have stayed here so many times. They now have a maximum 28 day stay though ):

Honestly you won't get this safety and privacy (though somewhat limited) any cheaper in NYC.

Not everything in New York is Expensive, it is the cost of the damn real estate.

  • No me too i havnt been bit by bed bugs or anything like that... and the hobo's that lives there w/ the cats are pretty fun! hehe... I really like the area. near chinatown, st mark.. and Ave.A.. but next time i go to nyc.. ill rent an appartment for a week.. it cost about the same..

  • This place is historic. It's one of the last remaining flophouses left on The Bowery. It's called the Whitehouse, because only white people were allowed to stay there when it first opened in the early 1900s.
