So, there's been some plot changes... But yeah. :)

------

The lights went up, the cheering in the theater becoming sparse. Everyone already began preparing to leave, not pausing to converse about the winners. Really, who could blame them? George Coleman had won award after award.

And, while from home, most spent half the awards staring enviously at the people who were actually attending it, June learned that people actually there spent the most the time yawing in boredom. Because really, no matter how much a fan you were, who would be actually willingly listen to George Coleman's pre-written speech fifty-thousand times in a single nightThe limo pulled up at a massive house, allowing June, Alex, and his father to get out from the car. Unlike the awards, no red carpet stretched out before her, and yet she could feel star presence in the air.

Alex's father stepped ahead, leading the way to Kristen Stewart's EMA after party. June trailed just a step behind the father and son, all the while nervously glancing up at the mansion. A cool blast of air hit June's skin as she entered, sending a shiver up her spinal column.

The room was filled with celebrities of all sorts, from Ashley Tisdale from High School Musical and Hellcats to the famous singer and ex-Disney girl, Britney Spears. Ke$ha's single, We R Who We R, blasted from the stereo, and Ke$ha herself was grinding against a pleased-looking guy in the center of the living room, which was serving as a dance floor.

Pushing their way through hordes of well-known pop artists, Alex and June separated themselves from the crowd, and headed up the impressive swirling staircase. Alex led June to a room on the far end of the long hallway, where the other Northview students were lounging.

They sat in a tight circle, obviously playing truth or dare. Seeing Alex, Jacqueline instantly perked up, but when her gaze fell upon June, her expression immediately noticeably darkened.

"Come join us," Jacqueline addressed Alex, her glare making it clear that June was not at all welcome. Jacqueline's thick auburn hair swished slightly as she scooted over on the marble flooring, making just enough space to fit Alex. She smiled sweetly to June as Alex took his place beside her on the floor, leaving June standing there awkwardly.

Damian, seeing June without a seat, eagerly created a space between him and Jake. His eyes followed June's endless legs as she took a seat between them uncomfortably.

With two new players, the game continued on, starting where it left off with Claire. She glanced around, debating who to victimize. "Damian," her twinkly little voice declared dramatically. "Truth or dare?"

He seemed to think it over before answering, "Truth." Ethan snorted and Jacqueline raised a perfectly plucked eyebrow. Obviously, choosing truths over here in California were highly uncommon. What she didn't realize was that Claire always asked the same question for truths, every single time.

But, because Damian had never picked truth, the answer was unknown. The entire group seemed to lean forward as the question left Claire's lips. And strangely enough, especially Claire herself. "Who do you have a crush on?"

Damian grinned his perfect smile as he answered, "June." For a moment, the room was entirely silent. Then hoots and applaud filled the room as June flushed a light maroon.

A few reactions caught her eye as she glanced around. A devilish smile lit up Jacqueline's enviable lips. Alex was just kind of hanging out; not really minding that one of his friends was enjoying his new prize girl. But most surprising, what caught her eye, was Claire. Her happy-go-lucky appearance had vanished, and a look of complete surprise and menace now occupied her features.

Though she was, it didn't quite take a genius to figure out that Claire had a crush on her friend, Damian. And judging from the shadow that had passed her face, she had now managed to make two enemies in California in a single day.
