The Green Hornet

This was from my major project at the Birmingham Conservatoire where I a 54-piece film orchestra from scratch.

It was the first time I've ever been a soloist in front of an orchestra and playing from memory.

There are a couple of rough patches but with the rehearsal time we had (6 hours on a 40 min program) it was pretty good.

the orchestra was conducted by my good friend Dave Livesey.

Tempo could be a bit faster, but all in all VERY well done.

Tell me about it buddy. Dave (Conductor) tries to set them off faster but the orchestra had a preset idea of the tempo. You can tell in the first 4 bars or so that I'm trying desperately to push the tempo (which is why it doesn't sit nicely right at the start). If the piece drags then it loses it's energy and the trumpet player is doomed :D In total we probably had 45 mins of rehearsal on this piece. It could have been a lot better but I suppose it could have been worse too.

great job pals..!! oh I do miss that time when we had great shows like those from the 70's... Amazing..!! it is really a hard song to perform.. thanks for posting it..!! nowadays all tv theme songs are kinda quick...I miss that time so bad..!!

You did great! The orchestra really wasn't connected with you, but you held up very well especially for performing live. That first shake you did was perfect!
