CHAN:
Speaking of melamine, China is the world's largest producer of farm-raised seafood and exports billions of dollars worth every year. But now, according to a Los Angeles Times report, some scientists are warning that Chinese farmed fish may contain the toxic chemical melamine.

The fish feed industry in China is not regulated, and for years some manufacturers have been adding melamine to the feed to make it look like it has more protein.

And new research indicates fish that eat food contaminated with melamine may retain the toxin in their flesh. They don't excrete all of it like cows and pigs do. So people who eat the fish could be consuming the melamine that was originally in the fish's food.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not require imported seafood to be tested for melamine, but many concerned fish importers are doing their own testing.

  • Alaska feed millions of hatchery salmon with the melamine infected fish feed around the same time as this. The feed was not recalled and all fed out. It's 2010 and these fish could be coming to a store near you.

  • anything from chink land is shit!

  • @PostGlacialRebound It is a good thing " Vivian Krause' is in to research. Look for her 3 interviews on Youtube. American foundations have payed over $90 million to promote so called wild Alaskan over farmed. Millions of that money went to so-called grassroots protests in western Canada. Why didn't these foundations put any money to enviromental action in the Gulf of Mexico, on the eastren seaboard or the Alaskan coast? They pay for circus act media.

  • fuck the chinese

  • @strikenetter its all scary now

  • And someone stated farm raised fish was the future?
