Hey all you RAD retro gamers! The votes are counted, and you guys picked STREETS OF RAGE 2 originally on the Sega Genensis/MegaDrive, and now available on the Wii Virtual Console.

REVIEWED:
-Streets of Rage 2 (Wii VC)

Enjoy! Remember, RETRO RULES!

NOTE to new fans and passer-byers
-The gameplay footage in this video is not *perfect* by design. It is intended to illustrate the difficulty of gameplay, and not representative of the player's gaming ability.

-Our 10 point scale is not a standard scale. Please refer to our Rating System video to learn more.

-In Europe, the game's "2" is a Roman Numeral "II". We're aware of this. Also worth mentioning, the Japanese title for this game is "Bare Knuckle II."

-This was the second game on the Genesis/MegaDrive to use the 16-meg cartidge technology.

    I agree.

My Ranking System Goes From E To SSS*

    And My Rating Is SSS*

This Game Is Just Plain Awesome In Every Way Shape Or Form.

  • @Number1StarSB and shiva...the megadrive version ash (gay guy)

  • This is as close to perfection as it gets. I have been playing this game since I was a kid and it never gets old for me. Adam missing wasn't a huge deal for me, but I think him not being playable in Streets of Rage 3 was a huge miss considering they let you play as a Kangaroo foolishness.

    *Pop sound*

    O_o

Did you get an IM from someone on Facebook just then? It sounds like you did...

  • The only thing that always bugs me about this game everytime I play it is that goddamn jetpack enemy. So cheap! Other than that this is probably the only beat em up that I can play any time without geting bored or annoyed after afew levels since I'm not really a big fan of the genre. I am one of this game though...if that makes sense xD

  • both final fight and streets of rage really are the best beat em ups if not THE BEST BEAT EM UPS OF ALL TIME, both games have great controls, great music, awesome moves and combos, and fun stages. personally though i like streets of rage just a tad bit better just because of its style of atmosphere and music is so energizing to my mind and nostalgic, but don't get me wrong, final fight is worthy opponent with its atmosphere :)

  • Streets Of Rage has more moves than FF.. But I enjoy both

  • This game has one of the best soundtracks on the Genesis. The composer is a genius. This is probably my favorite Beat 'em up.

  • still not rad.

  • @sigmahunter06 of course its rad, itsrad as fuck being able to play every game ever made, for free, and now with LCD tv's you can plug your PC into your front room TV, plug 2 or 4 USB joypads in and away you go on any game you want
