Todd McFarlane;
Born in Canada in 1961, McFarlane's road trip to creative autonomy began when he accepted an assignment pencilling for Marvel/Epic Comics in March 1984. From there, he worked his way to the top of the talent roster before leaving Marvel to help found Image Comics with six other artists.

It was then that Todd introduced his own character, Spawn. The book's debut in 1992 sold an amazing 1.7 million copies, an unprecedented feat in independent comics. From there came a whirlwind of growth and expansion: more comics, action figures, film, animation and the Web.

In 1994, Todd founded McFarlane Toys, because he wanted to maintain maximum creative control over his Spawn character. Over the years, the company has become one of the largest, most renowned toy manufacturers in the world. In addition to Spawn, McFarlane Toys has produced figures from such properties as KISS, Shrek, X-Files, Austin Powers, Metal Gear Solid, Clive Barker, Akira, the Beatles, Army of Darkness, Jaws, Rob Zombie, Alien, Predator, AC/DC and dozens of others.

  • Sounds like a bad idea for a spawn movie. I can only agree in one thing: it needs to be rated R. But beyond that, Spawn needs to be fantastical. He wants to make a ghost sighting movie, which is the worse idea ever. Its better to just not make it.

  • All I here is bull-shit bull-shit movie sucked bull-shit bull-shit I'm jealous of Iron man bull-shit bull-shit Spawn is scary bull-shit bull-shit no villains bull-shit bull-shit bull-shit Have a cartoon and Im gambling it bull-shit bull-shit bull-shit Im delaying it! Personaly I feel sorry for the reporter, his face was like "This interview was $#!T" Todd u hack not even Bruce Timm or Paul Dini will consider your work. Hell even Stan Lee is like "I've made many mistakes but damn ur awful"

  • Goddammit, it's 2012 and the movie isn't out nor the comics...... RAGE -:(

  • @werdle92 Todd McFarlane is actually Canadian.

  • he could be christian bale's american brother.

  • Needs to make a spawn game for ps3, I'd do anything for that game!!!

  • No, give him a damn villain for fuck's sake! Redeemer, Overtkill, Violator's bros, Curse, Satan, God, Mammon, Tiffany, Disciple, Tremor, whoever! Stop doing what YOU want, Todd, and do justice to the damn character! Sell him if you can't get this off the ground in the first place! Cheap bastard. You're an awesome artist though and I'd like to see you direct an animated movie since that Disturbed video. The series should only be a partial basis because Spawn got his ass kicked a lot. He tends to.

  • Man Todd Mc Farlane Needs to stop playing games and make a new movie of spawn and a new game of spawn. Spawn is the shit and I am mad as fuck that spawn is not getting as much play as Marvel and DC LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN MAN!!!!

  • Man... I have been doing artwork and doodling since I was a young kid and my artistic influence in my circles is praised as decent. however, all I look for in a character or art piece that I want to say something, is that it needs to feel real enough to me on a level that a person who is nothing like me can piece together the idea in the first minute or two of seeing said art piece. Todd has always been my fave artist because we share a lot of similar views and tackle things in a similar manner.

  • @jeetkunedo117 I agree I'd like to see the redeemer's character used in a sequel. Spawn needs another match and they made it to cartoony with the violator/clown. My only problem with this idea of a "scary, creepy movie" is that he could make it a horror movie opposed to a graphic novel movie. Like you said he should just convert his HBO cartoon into a movie.
