I had a chance to participate in a portion of the EAB delimitation project run by the New York Forestry. I'm in Connecticut where it is feared the EAB will arrive soon. Our state feels that the more we are educated on this borer, the better off we'll be when it does arrive. The group of people I worked with were exceptional people. The two people in charge, Nate Seigert and Jeff Rider educated and helped us all to understand and bring back important information to our states.
Over time for trees in the field, hammer and chisel are the best.easiest tools to get through the bark. Also, EAB's top-down habit makes finding galleries at ground level a challenging until the bug is well established. Developed a keen eye through the years for scanning the landscape:) Keep up the good work New York & good luck! From NW Ohio
