Just one week after Amazon started shipping the Kindle 2, they released the iPhone application in the Apple App Store. The Whispersync technology lets you keep your place in books saved and synced across devices. You now have access to over 200,000 ebooks on the iPhone and Amazon just raised the bar for ebook readers. Check out how Whispersync works and the software on the iPhone.

I'm thinking of getting an Ipod Touch. I currently have a Kindle and have to use a light to read at night in bed. Just wondering how the Ipod is on the eyes in a completely dark room? Should I just stick with the Kindle or can you turn the brightness down enough that it's comfortable? Thanks!
Many years ago, long before Kindle, Sony, and all the other Johnny-come-latelys that have come on the market, I started reading eBooks in my Palm using their eReader program. It is customizable (font size, colors, themes, etc.) before very long. the best thing of all was autoscroll, which moves the pages at a speed you designate. The size of the screen never bothered me because, well, how many words do you read at one time? I have nearly 400 books in this format.
Can you really read the text well? I'm considering getting an iPod Touch, but it seems like the screen would be annoyingly small- even if you can make the text larger.
Since I'm not in USA, I'm NOT able to buy any books from Kindle bookshop - I REALLY REALLY wish I could. Having read ebooks on my Blackberry (mobipocket format), I'm still not able to read them on my iPhone because no such software yet. Sigh!
