Chapter 8-A Night to Remember, Part 3

With Kevin and me:

After dinner, Kevin and I went for a moonlit walk by the ocean. We walked a ways, and then we stopped and sat down and watched the waves. I breathed in the fresh salty air, and let it out again.

"Mm," I sighed. "I love this."

"Me too," said Kevin. "I come down here a lot when I want to just think. To just let my mind go, you know? It's great."

"Yeah," I said. "I would imagine a lot of inspiration can come from a place like this. Just being here, feeling the wind, and breathing in the air just makes me feel like writing. I don't know, it might sound weird, but I'm constantly looking for inspiration, wherever I go."

Kevin just looked at me, smiling.

"What?" I said.

"It's like you're reading my mind," he said.

"Really?" I said.

"Yeah," he nodded.

"Wow," I said, "Well isn't that something?"

"It certainly is," he said. "I guess our minds just think the same way."

I smiled. "That's really...cool..." I said, leaning closer to him.

"Yeah," he said, leaning closer to me, too. "Totally."

He kissed me softly, and I kissed back. After a couple seconds we broke apart and looked at each other. Kevin stroked my hair.

"I think I found my inspiration," said Kevin, smiling at me.

I smiled back. "And I think I found mine."

With Tara and Joe:

Tara and Joe were sat through the whole movie, and when the movie ended, everyone filed out of the theater, except for them. When they were all alone in the theater, they looked at each other. They laughed because they were still wearing their 3-D glasses. Joe pushed his glasses back on his head. Then he gently took off Tara's. They looked at each other for a couple seconds, and then Joe did what Tara wanted him to do all night, and lightly kissed her. They laced their fingers together and exited the theater, smiling all the while.

When they made it to Joe's car, they got in, and Tara said, "This was a lot of fun."

"Yeah," said Joe, "It sure was."

Brittany and Nick played more board games for the rest of the time they had together. Britt won most of the games, but Nick didn't mind. He was just so happy that she was even playing with him at all.

We all met up again at the boys' house after our dates. We all had dazed looks on our faces.

"Do you want us to walk you guys home?" Kevin asked Tara, Britt, and me.

"Oh, no, that's fine," I said. "We don't want you guys getting mobbed on the way back."

Everyone laughed quietly.

"Okay, then, I guess we'll see you...when we see you," said Kevin.

"Alright," I said.

We hugged the boys and made our way back to the hotel. When we got to the hotel, we did what we always did after first dates. We grabbed our favorite candies out of our secret stash that we took with us, and, since we didn't have our own room all to ourselves, we went into our walk-in closet and closed the door. We sat on pillows in a circle in the middle of the closet and spread out our candy to munch on. It was actually pretty comfy in there.

"So, who's going first?" I asked.

"Let's go in age order," said Tara.

"Alrighty then," I said. I set down my candy and explained my evening to Tara and Britt in great detail. The restaurant, the sushi and the lo main, the walk on the beach, and the kiss.

"And then, Kevin said, "I think I found my inspiration," I finished.

"Aww!!" said Tara and Britt together.

I smiled delightedly.

"Okay, Tara, you're turn," I said.

Tara did the same thing I did, explaining in detail her conversation with Joe before the movie, the funny 3-D glasses, the scary parts, the sad parts, and the romantic parts of the movie, and finally the kiss.

"That is so sweet, Tar," I said.

"Yeah, totally," said Britt.

"Now what about you, Miss Monopoly?" Tara smiled.

Britt laughed, and then explained her time with Nick.

"It was mostly just board games, and then he said that I was the prettiest girl in the world, and that he was lucky because I was spending time with him when I could be doing a million other things. Then he kissed me," Britt blushed.

"That is so adorable," I said.

"Chyeah!" said Tara.

"Well, it sounds like we all had an amazing night," I said.

"Yeah," said Tara, dreamily.

After we finished our candy, we went to bed. But just before I lay down, I my cell phone vibrated. It was Kevin texting me.

"Sar, hope I'm not waking u up. just wanted to say that 2nite was amazing. ur my inspiration. xoxo Kev".

I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I texted back.

"Kev, ur amazing. ty for 2nite. ur my inspiration 2. xoxo back. Sar"

So,it looks like the girls all have bfs! Exciting! But will it last? Read about it more in the next chapter, which will be up sometime after noon TODAY!
