Hastings Bonfire, 16th October 2010 - held on the foreshore annually, to jointly commemorate The Gunpowder Plot 1605, & The Battle of Hastings 1066.
Bonfire Societies travel from across Sussex, to this, the first of the bonfire celebrations; organised by Hastings Borough Council along with the Hastings Borough Bonfire Society stage this event on the Saturday nearest to 16th October (Hastings day), each year.
More poignant this year, as it also marked the demise of the town's beloved Pier...
