I was asked about remapping. Remapping the ECU means overwriting the lazy factory software with performance enhancing code. Factory software has big margins of tolerance and error of which a lot can be taken back to increase performace. Remapping changes the air intake, boost, injection, etc. functionality and the remapping is done to the very same ECU. Remapping works best with turbo cars.
I was asked about remapping. Remapping means updating the (lazy) ECU factory software. Factory ECU software has BIG margins of tolerance and error. Remapping overwrites tens of thousands of optimisation code into the same ECU to produce the big improvements such I got in my Audi Allroad. I got 40BHP and 90Nm torque just be changing the software in the same ECU.
I'm also getting Mangaflow catbacks installed in the near future, the exhaust needs renewing anyway. That should give her a nice gurgle, especially on quick accelerations.
@shottto actually it is 290BHP and 440NM. I didn't swap the CPU. I got a SW remap done to the same CPU. Better solution in my opinion. Also the Tiptronic automatic gearbox SW was remapped. The access to that is, surprisingly, beneath the front passenger footwell!
Yes, stock Audi Allroad (C5 body) has 250BHP. This produces 350 NM of torque. Torque is in fact the Sweet Spot to chase after, not BHP. For example, a Stage 1 upgrade to 280 BHP results in an increase of torque to 440 NM. Obviously then it is the torque that really matters, not BHP. /Allroad Driver

what chip gives 440NM torque? and 280BHP? All major chip stage 1 producers give 307HP and 318 torque approx.
