  • Well, it has happened. We hit the peak in 2005, and we've been on a plateau for the last 5 years. Expect world oil production to roll off and start declining in late 2011 or early 2012. Expect net oil exports (i.e. the global market supply) to continue the downward trend it began in 2009. Expect continuing price shocks and an undulating global recession. Do not expect windmills and solar panels to fill the growing gap. We're on our way.

  • And if the Chinese [and Indian] economys lay claim to all that oil to fuel THEIR economy, what ya going to do? Tell them to get lost? Remember the Chinese government are suppling the loans that is keeping the American government solvent.

  • you need to watch a video on exponential growth. an increase of 10% usage, or growth a year doubles every 7 years (compounding) exponential growth only takes a few generations to become incredibly massive. 10 multiplied 10 times is 10,000,000,000, economic growth @ 7% for 20 years for 3 billion people = armaggedon for cheap energy and cheap resources.

  • @jessejohnneedles10 Kuwait is still producing more than it's quota from OPEC, so just because it's spending a few million dollars, pocket change for a oil rich country, on exploration means nothing. Plus Canada has 100 years left of reserves in oil so no worry.

  • @TheMarkbarron Oh yeah that makes perfect sense, that's the only reason!....Arrogance..That's why Kuwait, country with the largest active oil field, is spending MILLIONS of unnecessary money to drill off shore instead of drilling in their own backyards like they have for years. NO, because they know they are running out of oil, that's why their production is down, therefore they drill off shores...and they wouldn't dare show peak oil to the public, it would cripple their country financially.

  • only reason why world production has decreased is cause of the recession, haven't reached peak oil yet

  • its good to be there

  • If you Amerikansky will do an Iraq on us because you want our easily accessible abiotic oil and gas wells which we Russians has patiently been drilling for many years then better remember we have thousands of land-, sea- and air-based mobile Topol missiles equipped with evasive 55.16 megaton warheads numbering 55,000 not 30,000 as Alex Jones claims. We have self-contained underground cities to continue modern civilization during and after a nuclear exchange. Think twice before attacking us.

  • As a former Russian officer you amerikansky has forgotten the energy history of WW II. During that time, Europe practically and successfully used wood gasifiers to run their millions of trucks and cars throughout the war years. Coal was successfully converted to oil by the Karrick process we Russians copied and improved successfully while drilling for abiotic oil and gas. Scare tactics again you amerikansky are doing to the world which we Russians do not like.

  • well if this is going to happen where in hell are the solar&electric powered technology's at

  • Micheal ervine, oil industry analst ,never heard such a load of cow dung in all my life, push peak oil into the future my ars-
